It just doesn't happen. I couldn't find any other way, though the left swipe option is available to be disabled in the touchpad options, the swipe from right is not. Mark You are the best, thanks. Hope this helps others.

Neither worked. As that's where I naturally rest my mouse pointer while using operating systems that aren't garbage, it's driving me crazy. Repeatedly. We're left with sharing options, connecting to devices, and quickly going to Settings.
My conclusion is that W8 is not worth using unless this charms bar pop up can be turned off. However, when I first began using Windows 8 back in September of 2011, I must admit that I found the Charms Bar pretty confusing. It popped out when I moved my mouse over to the top right corner to go for the Close button on an application. So how do you use and navigate the OS without it?
